Birch Island Lake Association 5-26-07 Meeting of the Membership 9 a.m., Lakeside Community Lutheran Church The meeting was called to order by Vice President Mick Peterson. Steve Hemping’s letter of resignation as President was read and accepted. Motion to accept by Pat Glerum, seconded by Alan Eidsness An election of officers was conducted. Presented for election: · President – Mick Peterson (to complete second year of Steve Hemping’s two-year term which ends May 2008) · Vice President – Barry Borman (to complete second year of Mick Peterson’s two year term which ends May 2008) · Secretary – Gayle Teskey (two year term will end May 2009) · Treasurer – Mary Kirby (two year term will end May 2009) · Director-at-Large – Tom Schneiberg (two year term will end May 2009) · Director-at-Large – Tim Adair (to replace Mary Kirby’s term, ending May 2008)

Past President – Steve Hemping A motion was made to accept the slate by Lou Streff and seconded by Jean Kirby. Minutes from September 2, 2006 meeting were presented by Secretary Gayle Teskey. Old Business: Water Quality Report – Barry Borman
Treasurer’s Report:– Tom Schneiberg: · Copy of financial report distributed to all in attendance New Business: · Holiday Boat Parade will be cancelled for 2007 only due to low water levels. · Ice Cream Social confirmed for Sunday, July 1st at Kilkare Lodge · Announcement of fire danger rating (7) and the new, lower rating which could positively affect homeowner insurance Guest Speaker: Jim Becker/Webster DNR Ranger Station · Discussed burning permit requirements, definitions of open burning and campfires. Explained fire warning interpretations. Meeting concluded, MSC (Motion made: Pat Glerum, seconded Helen Waddick).
